{"id":78713,"date":"2026-05-08T09:07:41","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T02:07:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hbbgroup.net\/solv-protocol-will-dump-layerzero-migrate-700m-tokenized-bitcoin-tech-to-chainlink\/"},"modified":"2026-05-08T09:07:41","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T02:07:41","slug":"solv-protocol-will-dump-layerzero-migrate-700m-tokenized-bitcoin-tech-to-chainlink","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hbbgroup.net\/zh\/solv-protocol-will-dump-layerzero-migrate-700m-tokenized-bitcoin-tech-to-chainlink\/","title":{"rendered":"Solv Protocol Will Dump LayerZero, Migrate $700M Tokenized Bitcoin Tech to Chainlink"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<h4 color=\"#333\">In brief<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Solv Protocol is migrating more than $700 million in tokenized Bitcoin infrastructure from LayerZero to Chainlink CCIP.<\/li>\n<li>The move follows the $292 million KelpDAO exploit tied to LayerZero-powered bridge infrastructure.<\/li>\n<li>The migration adds to growing scrutiny around cross-chain bridge security in DeFi.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>Another crypto project is leaving blockchain interoperability protocol LayerZero <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/366903\/kelp-layerzero-292-million-hack-plans-move-chainlink\" target=\"_blank\">after the fallout<\/a> from the $292 million Kelp DAO exploit intensified scrutiny around cross-chain bridge security.<\/p>\n<p>In an announcement Thursday, Solv Protocol said it is <a href=\"https:\/\/insights.solv.finance\/solv-protocol-migrates-from-layerzero-to-chainlink-ccip\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow external\">migrating<\/a> the infrastructure that powers more than $700 million in tokenized Bitcoin from LayerZero to Chainlink\u2019s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), following what it described as a broader security review of cross-chain systems.<\/p>\n<p>The protocol said it is deprecating LayerZero bridge support for Corn, Berachain, Rootstock, and TAC while standardizing its infrastructure around Chainlink\u2019s CCIP.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecurity is the foundation of everything we build at Solv, and our migration to Chainlink CCIP reinforces that commitment at the highest level,\u201d Solv Protocol Chief Technology Officer Will Wang said in a statement. \u201cBy fully securing SolvBTC and xSolvBTC cross-chain transfers with CCIP, we are providing users the highest assurance that proven, defense-in-depth infrastructure secures all cross-chain transfers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Wang, the migration positions Solv to scale with \u201cthe reliability and institutional-grade security assurance the market demands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Launched in 2021 on the <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/resources\/what-is-ethereum-quickly-explained-four-minute-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ethereum<\/a> network, Solv Protocol is a DeFi platform built around SolvBTC\u2014a token tied to the value of <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/resources\/what-is-bitcoin-four-minute-instant-guide-explainer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bitcoin<\/a>\u2014that lets users deploy <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/resources\/what-is-wbtc-explained-bitcoin-ethereum-defi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrapped BTC<\/a> and other Bitcoin-based assets across multiple blockchains to earn yield.<\/p>\n<p>The move comes weeks after attackers drained roughly <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/364981\/arbitrum-security-council-freezes-71-5m-in-ethereum-linked-to-292m-kelpdao-exploit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$292 million<\/a> from infrastructure tied to Kelp DAO, a DeFi protocol that used LayerZero\u2019s bridge technology. Solv did not directly mention Kelp DAO in its announcement, instead referring broadly to \u201crecent cross-chain hacks observed in the industry\u201d alongside an extensive security review.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn accordance with this strategic migration, we are reducing our risk exposure on our existing bridging stack by deprecating SolvBTC and xSolvBTC LayerZero bridging support for Corn, Berachain, Rootstock, and TAC to instead standardize on Chainlink CCIP, the most battle-hardened and time-tested interoperability infrastructure across all blockchains,\u201d the company wrote.<\/p>\n<p>While cross-chain bridges let users move assets between blockchains, they have also become one of crypto\u2019s most frequently attacked pieces of infrastructure because they often depend on complicated verification systems and hold large amounts of locked funds.<\/p>\n<p>Previous prominent attacks on blockchain network bridges include the $622 million exploit of <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/97887\/north-korea-hackers-axie-infinity-ronin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Axie Infinity\u2019s Ronin network bridge<\/a> in 2022, and the $230 hack of Indian crypto exchange <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/240604\/wazirx-loses-230-million-in-suspected-dprk-hack\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WazirX<\/a> in 2024.
