April WTI crude oil futures are currently up 19.1% to $108.35 per barrel. That&#8217;s roughly double the price at the start of 2026 and the highest level in about four years.<\/p>\n<p>That surge, in turn, has sent U.S. stock index futures down by nearly 2% across the board. Futures for Japan&#8217;s Nikkei 225 are lower by 3.1% shortly before that stock market opens for Monday trade.<\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin <span data-submodule-name=\"price-chip\" data-submodule-version=\"1.0.0\" data-submodule-instance=\"default\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/price\/bitcoin\"><span><span><span>BTC<\/span><span><svg fill=\"none\" height=\"24\" viewbox=\"0 0 25 24\" width=\"25\"><path d=\"M9.20956 12.29L11.7996 9.69997C12.1896 9.30997 12.8196 9.30997 13.2096 9.69997L15.7996 12.29C16.4296 12.92 15.9796 14 15.0896 14H9.90956C9.01956 14 8.57956 12.92 9.20956 12.29Z\" fill=\"var(--text-pos)\" \/><\/svg><\/span><span>$67,211.47<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span> is lower by 2% and trading just below $66,000.
