The transaction will be carried out as an equal exchange of stock and cash between the companies.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement followed Trump Media Group CRO Strategy, a joint venture established by Trump Media, Crypto.com and Yorkville Acquisition, to establish a $6.4 billion crypto treasury of the CRO token.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to the company, the agreement will allow Truth Social users to potentially acquire CRO on the platform as part of a rewards program. <\/p>\n<p>The Trump Media shares and the CRO tokens exchanged in the deal will be \u201csubject to a lockup period,\u201d though the company did not specify for how long that might be.<\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"100%\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1LjPqXtuPnc?start=\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The deal represented a deepening of ties between the crypto industry and the Trump administration, under scrutiny from many lawmakers for potential conflicts of interest with his digital asset ventures. <\/p>\n<p data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\">Crypto.com CEO Kris Marszalek <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/trump-white-house-crypto-summit-bitcoin-reserve-policy\" title=\"null\">attended a March summit<\/a> at the White House at the request of Trump officials to discuss the administration\u2019s digital asset policies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Related: <\/strong><\/em><a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/donald-trump-crypto-ceo-kris-marszalek\" title=\"null\"><em><strong>Trump meets with Crypto.com CEO as firm drops SEC lawsuit<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Crypto.com <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/trump-media-partners-with-crypto-com-to-launch-etfs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/trump-media-partners-with-crypto-com-to-launch-etfs\">signed a non-binding agreement<\/a> with Trump\u2019s media company in March to launch exchange-traded funds tied to crypto.<\/p>\n<p>The CRO price was about $0.27 at the time of publication, having surged more than 66% since the announcement of the treasury deal on Aug. 26.<\/p>\n<h2>Is Crypto.com still considering going public?<\/h2>\n<p>In a Tuesday interview, Marszalek <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/crypto-com-ceo-bets-fed-rate-cut-fuel-crypto-markets-in-q4\" title=\"null\">said the company<\/a> \u201chas the numbers\u201d to do a public listing in the US, but had not reached a decision.
