MEDAN, Indonesia — Travelers and food lovers considering Indonesian cuisine might think of many succulent dishes, including gado-gado, a mixed salad topped with a rich peanut sauce, beef rendang, slowly simmered in coconut milk, or soto, a traditional soup typically eaten for breakfast.
