SYDNEY — Australia will lift biosecurity restrictions on imports of American beef, the country’s agriculture minister announced on Thursday, addressing a grievance aired by U.S. President Donald Trump when he imposed tariffs on Australia in April.
However, the government has said the decision, which takes effect on Monday, is not connected to trade negotiations with Washington, but is instead the outcome of a 10-year review.
