{"id":82980,"date":"2026-05-28T09:45:02","date_gmt":"2026-05-28T02:45:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hbbgroup.net\/bitcoin-treasury-company-nakamoto-falls-nearly-67-ytd-after-reverse-stock-split\/"},"modified":"2026-05-28T09:45:02","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T02:45:02","slug":"bitcoin-treasury-company-nakamoto-falls-nearly-67-ytd-after-reverse-stock-split","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hbbgroup.net\/vi\/bitcoin-treasury-company-nakamoto-falls-nearly-67-ytd-after-reverse-stock-split\/","title":{"rendered":"Bitcoin treasury company Nakamoto falls nearly 67% YTD after reverse stock split"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-testid=\"post__body\">\n<p>Nakamoto (NAKA) is trading down more than 10% on Wednesday just days after the Bitcoin treasury company completed a 1-for-40 reverse stock split undertaken to stay compliant with the Nasdaq stock exchange\u2019s listing criteria.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>NAKA stock is down by about 67% year-to-date (YTD) and by more than 99% since its May 2025 peak of about $34 per share, reaching a low of about $0.16 per share in April before the <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/nakamoto-1-for-40-reverse-stock-split-nasdaq-bitcoin-treasury\">reverse stock split<\/a> on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Nasdaq warned the company in December that its shares would be delisted after trading below $1 for at least 30 consecutive days, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1946573\/000149315225027527\/form8-k.htm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">filing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The reverse split reduced the number of outstanding shares to about 17.4 million from about 696 million, <a href=\"https:\/\/nakamoto.com\/updates\/nakamoto-announces-1-for-40-reverse-stock-split\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">according<\/a> to the company.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" alt width=\"896\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-images.ctmedia.io\/media\/content\/screenshot-2026-05-27-at-13846-pm.png\" decoding=\"async\"><\/figure>\n<p><em>NAKA stock price is down by nearly 67% year-to-date. Source: <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/NAKA\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Yahoo Finance<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cointelegraph reached out to NAKA for comment but did not receive a response by the time of publication.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The decline in NAKA\u2019s value comes amid a <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/nakamoto-sale-signal-dat-contagion\">broad downturn in the Bitcoin treasury sector<\/a> that started in 2025; however, the company has also underperformed the industry\u2019s top players, including Strategy (MSTR), Twenty-One Capital (XXI) and Strive Asset Management (ASST).<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Related: <\/strong><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-treasury-nakamoto-reports-238m-net-loss-q1\"><em><strong>Bitcoin firm Nakamoto records net loss in Q1 despite sixfold revenue growth<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>BTC treasury companies show signs of recovery, but market remains challenging <\/h2>\n<p>Strategy, the biggest Bitcoin treasury company as measured by its BTC holdings, is up about 2.5% YTD, and is trading at about $155 per share.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-One Capital, the second-largest publicly traded BTC treasury, with 43,514\tcoins, is down by more than 17% YTD, and is trading at about $7.26 per share.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" alt width=\"896\" height=\"871\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-images.ctmedia.io\/media\/content\/screenshot-2026-05-27-at-14159-pm.png\" decoding=\"async\"><\/figure>\n<p><em>The current distribution of Bitcoin among publicly traded BTC treasury companies, private enterprises, government entities and investment funds. Source: <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/bitcointreasuries.net\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Bitcoin Treasuries<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Strive is also up by over 20% YTD, last trading at about $17.72 a share.<\/p>\n<p>The digital asset treasury space is likely to experience <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/crypto-treasury-consolidation-2026-pantera\">consolidation in 2026<\/a>, as bigger companies eat up smaller firms, according to venture firm Pantera Capital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c2026 will see brutal pruning. In each major asset class, only one or two players will dominate.
