Iran said a US proposal to end the war is “still being considered” after reports the two countries could be close to an agreement, the BBC reported on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The US has presented a one-page memorandum of understanding to Iran that would gradually reopen the Strait of Hormuz and lift the American blockade on Iranian ports. Detailed talks over Iran\u2019s nuclear program would come later in the process, the person said, adding that nothing has yet been agreed upon.<\/p>\n

US President Donald Trump stated that the US has had \u201cvery good talks\u201d with Iran over the past 24 hours, but there\u2019s no deadline for when he expects to hear back from Tehran.<\/p>\n

The weekly Oil inventory reports published by the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the Energy Information Agency (EIA) impact the price of Brent Crude Oil. Changes in inventories reflect fluctuating supply and demand. If the data shows a drop in inventories it can indicate increased demand, pushing up Oil price. Higher inventories can reflect increased supply, pushing down prices. API\u2019s report is published every Tuesday and EIA\u2019s the day after. Their results are usually similar, falling within 1% of each other 75% of the time. The EIA data is considered more reliable, since it is a government agency.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) is a group of 12 Oil producing nations who collectively decide production quotas for member countries at twice-yearly meetings. Their decisions often impact Brent Crude Oil prices. When OPEC decides to lower quotas, it can tighten supply, pushing up Oil prices. When OPEC increases production, it has the opposite effect.
