Circle has previously teased the possibility of a native token for its payments blockchain, including during the firm&#8217;s Q4 2025 earnings call, with Tuesday&#8217;s latest mention reinforcing the notion that a token launch could be on the horizon.<\/p>\n<p>Allaire noted that \u201cwe hope to go to mainnet soon\u201d with Arc, reiterating Circle\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.circle.com\/blog\/introducing-arc-an-open-layer-1-blockchain-purpose-built-for-stablecoin-finance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener\">plans<\/a> to launch a mainnet beta in 2026, and touted \u201cmajor financial companies, global banks, exchanges, the world&#8217;s leading payment companies, major technology companies\u201d as collaborators on the project.<\/p>\n<p>Circle has previously <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/346370\/circle-arc-testnet-blackrock-visa-aws\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a> partners including BlackRock, Visa, Goldman Sachs and Amazon Web Services on the Arc public testnet, which launched in October 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Circle (CRCL) shares are up roughly 10% on the day following the announcement, recently trading hands above $108.<\/p>\n<h2 color=\"#333\">What is Arc?<\/h2>\n<p>Launched by USDC issuer Circle, layer-1 blockchain Arc is billed as an \u201cEconomic Operating System\u201d designed to support stablecoin-native applications.<\/p>\n<p>It aims to address limitations with existing blockchains through offering deterministic finality, predictable fees priced in USDC and other stablecoins, compliant privacy features, and connections to other blockchains and traditional financial systems.<\/p>\n<p>Circle is also looking to prepare Arc for the threat posed by quantum computers to the cryptography underpinning blockchains, <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/363395\/circle-arc-network-quantum-resistance-bitcoin-ethereum-face-threat\" target=\"_blank\">announcing<\/a> this month that its mainnet will launch with post-quantum signature support and releasing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arc.network\/blog\/arcs-quantum-resistant-design-and-roadmap-why-it-matters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener\">roadmap<\/a> targeting quantum resistance across its wallets, validators, and infrastructure.<\/p>\n<div>\n<h3>Daily Debrief Newsletter<\/h3>\n<p>Start every day with the top news stories right now, plus original features, a podcast, videos and more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In brief Circle is \u201cexploring\u201d a token for Arc Network, its stablecoin-focused layer-1 blockchain, the firm\u2019s CEO Jeremy Allaire said.
