Instead, he said he wanted to offer users an alternative token structure showing long-term commitment.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\"><p>\u201cI came into crypto because I believe it&#8217;s going to change the world \u2026 But somewhere along the way, amidst the booms, the busts, the moonshots, the decentralization theater, and the straight up scams, we lost our way. I don&#8217;t know about you, but I&#8217;m just tired of false promises.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\">Backpack\u2019s offer would anchor the token\u2019s value to company equity.<\/p>\n<h2>Backpack prioritizes users with tokenomics setup<\/h2>\n<p>Backpack first announced its plan to launch the <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/crypto-exchange-backpack-launch-token-with-unlocks-tied-ipo-ambition\">Backpack token in a post on X<\/a> earlier this month.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The tokens are intended to be unlocked in stages as the company moves toward a potential US IPO. <\/p>\n<p>Backpack said 25% of the 1 million-token supply will be unlocked at the Token Generation Event, with the remaining 37.5% released before the IPO, provided Backpack reaches certain milestones, such as regulatory approvals and the launch of new products.<\/p>\n<p><template data-ct-widget=\"buzzsprout\" data-buzzsprout-podcast-id=\"2040516\" data-buzzsprout-episode-id=\"18518100\"><\/template><\/p>\n<p data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\">The first 62.5% of <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/backpack-exchange-launches-beta-testing-of-prediction-market-platform\">Backpack tokens<\/a> will be distributed entirely to users, while the remaining tokens will be unlocked post-IPO for <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/backpack-eu-launches-crypto-futures-cysec-mifid\">Backpack\u2019s team members<\/a> and investors.<\/p>\n<figure>    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2026-02\/019c8d13-5fc0-7455-900f-b282a5de897f.png\" title><figcaption><em>Tokenomics for the Backpack token.
