{"id":53528,"date":"2025-11-07T09:39:49","date_gmt":"2025-11-07T02:39:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hbbgroup.net\/crypto-etfs-punching-above-weight-as-almost-half-of-etf-investers-plan-buys\/"},"modified":"2025-11-07T09:39:49","modified_gmt":"2025-11-07T02:39:49","slug":"crypto-etfs-punching-above-weight-as-almost-half-of-etf-investers-plan-buys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hbbgroup.net\/vi\/crypto-etfs-punching-above-weight-as-almost-half-of-etf-investers-plan-buys\/","title":{"rendered":"Crypto ETFs \u2018punching above weight\u2019 as almost half of ETF investers plan buys"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-v-0ccfa88e>\n<p>Nearly half of exchange-traded fund (ETF) investors are planning to buy a crypto ETF, matching those who said they\u2019d buy a bond ETF, according to a report from brokerage giant Schwab Asset Management.<\/p>\n<p>In its ETFs and Beyond <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/content.schwab.com\/web\/retail\/public\/about-schwab\/Schwab-ETFs-and-Beyond-Study-2025_findings.pdf\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">report<\/a> released on Thursday, Schwab found that 52% of respondents to its survey were planning to invest in US equities, while 45% said they were <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/what-is-a-cryptocurrency-etf-and-how-does-it-work\">interested in crypto ETFs<\/a>, tied in second place with US bonds.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg\u2019s senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EricBalchunas\/status\/1986439385261195328\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a> in an X post on Thursday that the results were a surprise, given the sheer size of the bond market in comparison.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was also shocking to see crypto tied with bonds for second place in where people plan to invest,\u201d he said. \u201cMajorly punching above weight given crypto is 1% of total ETF aum [assets under management] while bonds are 17%.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2025-11\/019a5c02-2bf5-75fe-a87f-9d9b3082bacb\" title><figcaption><em>Source: <\/em><a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EricBalchunas\/status\/1986439385261195328\" rel=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EricBalchunas\/status\/1986439385261195328\" target=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EricBalchunas\/status\/1986439385261195328\" title=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EricBalchunas\/status\/1986439385261195328\"><em>Eric Balchunas<\/em><\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Schwab\u2019s survey polled 2,000 individual investors aged between 25 and 75, with half having either bought or sold ETFs in the past two years, and with at least $25,000 of investable assets.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Millennials show higher interest in crypto ETFs<\/h2>\n<p>The report <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/generation-z-and-millennials-choose-crypto-over-stocks-report\">found that Millennial investors<\/a>, people born between 1981 to 1996 and aged between 29 and 44, showed a higher interest in crypto ETFs than other age brackets.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Roughly 57% of Millennial respondents indicated they planned to invest in crypto through ETFs, <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/crypto-payments-trend-genz-genx-global-bitget-report\">compared to 41 % of Gen X<\/a>, people born between 1965 and 1980.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2025-11\/019a5c02-3459-7813-94ef-8e9c4087c822\" title><figcaption><em>Millennial investors showed a higher interest in crypto ETFs than other age brackets.
