Crypto market sentiment has slipped into Fear, with signs showing that investors are temporarily stepping back from moving further down the risk curve, according to sentiment sources.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s clear traders are less interested in obscure altcoins and are instead debating which major asset will break out next,\u201d sentiment platform Santiment said<\/a> in a report on Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Santiment said that the crypto market is increasingly focused on larger-cap crypto assets such as Bitcoin (BTC<\/a>), Ether (ETH<\/a>), and XRP (XRP<\/a>). \u201cA heavy focus on large-caps can indicate a more cautious or \u2018risk-off\u2019 sentiment among traders,\u201d Santiment said.<\/p>\n

Bitcoin\u2019s price \u201cremains indecisive\u201d <\/h2>\n

It comes amid growing calls from traders for an altcoin season. However, Bitfinex analysts recently said it may not arrive until more crypto ETFs potentially launch later this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the Crypto Fear & Greed Index<\/a>, which measures overall crypto market sentiment, posted a \u201cFear\u201d score of 44, after posting \u201cNeutral\u201d readings over the previous two days.<\/p>\n

Some traders are also questioning the near-term direction of major cap assets. On Saturday, crypto trader Daan Crypto Traders said<\/a> that Bitcoin\u2019s price \u201cremains undecisive [sic].\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy base case scenario remains to see a sweep of the monthly lows, which should then cause some panic and fear of it losing $100K,\u201d Daan Crypto Trades said.<\/p>\n

Over the month, Bitcoin is down 5.38%, while Ether is up 9.44%, according<\/a> to CoinMarketCap.<\/p>\n

However, other indicators suggest that the market is still moving down the risk curve.<\/p>\n

The \u201cfinal shakeout\u201d for altcoins, says trader<\/h2>\n

On Sunday, CoinMarketCap\u2019s Altcoin Season Index<\/a> posted an \u201cAltcoin Season\u201d score of 56 out of 100. The indicator tips between Altcoin Season and Bitcoin Season based on how the top 100 altcoins have performed against Bitcoin over the past 90 days.<\/p>\n

Crypto trader Rekt Fencer said<\/a>, \u201cThis is the final shakeout for altcoins.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, MN Trading Capital founder Michael van de Poppe said<\/a> that altcoins are \u201cextremely undervalued.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe cycle has proven that this cycle is completely different than previous cycles,\u201d van de Poppe said.<\/p>\n

On Friday, Bitcoin analyst PlanC echoed a similar sentiment<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone who thinks Bitcoin has to peak in Q4 of this year does not understand statistics or probability,\u201d the analyst said in an X post, arguing that relying on the three previous halving cycles doesn\u2019t provide enough statistically significant data.<\/p>\n
