{"id":46763,"date":"2025-09-04T08:53:58","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T01:53:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hbbgroup.net\/businesses-are-recycling-22-of-profits-into-bitcoin-says-river\/"},"modified":"2025-09-04T08:53:58","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T01:53:58","slug":"businesses-are-recycling-22-of-profits-into-bitcoin-says-river","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hbbgroup.net\/vi\/businesses-are-recycling-22-of-profits-into-bitcoin-says-river\/","title":{"rendered":"Businesses are recycling 22% of profits into Bitcoin, says River"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-v-43e640e6>\n<p>Bitcoin financial services firm River said its business clients are reinvesting an average of 22% of profits into Bitcoin, signaling growing grassroots adoption.<\/p>\n<p>Of River\u2019s client base, real estate firms have been the biggest adopters with nearly 15% reinvesting profits into Bitcoin (<a href=\"http:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/bitcoin-price\">BTC<\/a>), while hospitality, finance and software sectors are allocating between 8% and 10%, River research analyst Sam Baker <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/river.com\/learn\/files\/river-business-report-2025.pdf\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"null\">said<\/a> in a report on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Even fitness studios, painting and roofing companies and religious nonprofits are among the adopters.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2025-09\/01991253-3a6f-7c2d-8cf9-afb04b059a04\" title><figcaption><em>Key Bitcoin adoption metrics in the private sector. Source: <\/em><a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/River\/status\/1963247226047574431\" rel=\"https:\/\/x.com\/River\/status\/1963247226047574431\" target=\"https:\/\/x.com\/River\/status\/1963247226047574431\" title=\"https:\/\/x.com\/River\/status\/1963247226047574431\"><em>River<\/em><\/a><br \/><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Baker said businesses like these have quietly acquired 84,000 Bitcoin in 2025 \u2014 a sizable stash representing about a quarter of the holdings of institutional fund managers and corporate Bitcoin treasuries have accumulated.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile Bitcoin treasury companies have captured most of the media spotlight, what is often overlooked is adoption by conventional businesses that use Bitcoin to complement their existing business models,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Baker said improvements in Bitcoin&#8217;s accounting standards, regulatory clarity, increasing institutional acceptance and a strong bull market have created the \u201cideal conditions for the widespread adoption we are witnessing today.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2025-09\/01991253-4168-798d-988a-8cd1aecc13fa\" title><figcaption><em>Largest Bitcoin buyers in 2025. Source: <\/em><a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/river.com\/learn\/files\/river-business-report-2025.pdf\" rel=\"https:\/\/river.com\/learn\/files\/river-business-report-2025.pdf\" target=\"https:\/\/river.com\/learn\/files\/river-business-report-2025.pdf\" title=\"https:\/\/river.com\/learn\/files\/river-business-report-2025.pdf\"><em>River<\/em><\/a><br \/><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Business and institutional Bitcoin adoption has been one of the biggest catalysts behind Bitcoin\u2019s bull run to <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-new-all-time-high-traders-asking-has-btc-price-top-124k\" title=\"null\">$124,450 this cycle.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There have been periods where spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund issuers have <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-etfs-scoop-10-x-more-btc-than-mined\" title=\"null\">scooped up 10 times more Bitcoin<\/a> than what miners were able to produce, pushing up Bitcoin\u2019s price.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It contrasts significantly with the 2020-2021 bull cycle, where businesses largely sat on the sidelines as Bitcoin topped $69,000 mostly on retail hype.<\/p>\n<h2>Smaller businesses have an easier path to Bitcoin adoption<\/h2>\n<p>Baker noted that 75% of the businesses it serves have 50 employees or fewer, arguing that the small companies will have an easier time adopting Bitcoin as fewer hurdles are involved.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, larger companies with committee-based decision-making are more inclined to follow norms and avoid controversy, Baker said, explaining why so few <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/tesla-holds-onto-bitcoin-musk-time-doge-to-drop-significantly\" title=\"null\">S&#038;P 500 companies<\/a> hold Bitcoin.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\"><p>\u201cEven if a CEO or CFO is personally convinced of Bitcoin&#8217;s long-term value, they are unlikely to advocate for adoption unless peer companies have already done so.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Many are only investing modest amounts into Bitcoin<\/h2>\n<p>However, River found that over 40% of the businesses allocate between 1% to 10% into Bitcoin, while only 10% invest more than half of their net income into the cryptocurrency. <\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Related:<\/strong><\/em><a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/tether-usdt-prices-goods-bolivia\" title=\"null\"><em><strong> Tether USDT stablecoin seen on Bolivian store price tags<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For smaller companies, Bitcoin buys can be quite small \u2014 less than $10,000.
