WASHINGTON — The U.S. State Department’s “China House,” the one-stop-shop for China strategy, has a new head: Joshua Young, Nikkei Asia has learned.
While the unit — officially called the Office of China Coordination — will continue to be based in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs (EAP), Young will report directly to Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker, the department’s No. 3 official, according to officials.
