BANGKOK — Thailand’s Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra to serve one year in prison, ruling that he had avoided a previous prison sentence by being inappropriately hospitalized, dealing another blow to his political clout following the removal of his daughter from the post he had held.
