KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysia’s automotive production decreased 10.1% year-on-year in the first half of 2025 as weaker demand for commercial vehicles weighed on the sector, according to industry statistics released Wednesday.
According to data from the Malaysian Automotive Association, the total production fell to 352,626 units from 392,220 in the same period last year. The production of commercial vehicles dropped 11.9% to 18,775 units, while passenger vehicles down 10.2% to 333,212 units.
