TOKYO — KFC Japan plans to increase its footprint by 30% over the next five years, expanding to up to 1,700 stores by fiscal 2030.
The company will leverage the financial strength of U.S. investment firm Carlyle Group, which bought KFC Japan last year. The food chain plans to open a spree of outlets in the three major urban areas of Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya, places where it previously had a weak presence.
