LONDON/TOKYO — Japan and the U.K. will collaborate on nuclear fusion, an unrealized new power generation technology, to achieve a viable demonstration by the 2030s, Nikkei has learned. They will combine the U.K.’s remote-controlled robot technology with Japan’s general manufacturing capabilities to develop this new technology.
Hiroshi Masuko, senior official from Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, alongside Kerry McCarthy, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, will meet and sign a memorandum of cooperation in London on Thursday.
