RAJASTHAN, India — Poor commuter access to and from India’s metro stations is pushing operators to tie up with ride-hailing apps to address the issue and boost ridership, and in the process increase fare revenue and cut operational losses.
Faced with poor secondary public transport, or walks along dirty sidewalks or busy roads, commuters have been reluctant to embrace India’s expanding metro systems. But from Delhi to Hyderabad, operators are linking up with services such as Rapido and Mana Yatri.
