SHANGHAI — China’s consumer price index (CPI) rose marginally June, its first increase in five months, the National Bureau of Statistics said Wednesday, while producer deflation fell by the largest rate in two years, underlining continued uncertainty amid a global trade war and sluggish domestic demand.
The CPI increased 0.1%, reversing a 0.1% drop in May. For the first half of the year, the gauge fell by 0.1%.
