BEIJING — The Chinese government announced Wednesday it will waive the cost of travel permits for first-time visitors from Taiwan, in an effort to encourage cross-strait traffic from the self-governed island.
The exemptions will run from July through the end of 2027, according to China’s Taiwan Affairs Office.
