PHNOM PENH — The Thai government’s decision to virtually close all land borders with Cambodia has cast a shadow over an estimated 1.2 million Cambodian migrant workers as well as the Thai economy.
The two countries have engaged in an escalating back-and-forth of rhetoric and official directives aimed at hurting the other following the killing of a Cambodian soldier at a disputed section of the border in late May.
