NEW DELHI — Battery exchange stations for electric bikes and three-wheeled vehicles are proliferating in India, a trend that is expected to give a further boost to the country’s already rapid electrification push.
Three-wheelers are a common method of transportation in India. Electric versions, known as e-rickshaws, have rechargeable batteries mounted on the back that can be exchanged for full ones when they run low on power. The process takes less than two minutes, with payment handled through an app.
