Beijing — Chinese internet giant Baidu announced on Wednesday a major overhaul of its core search engine. The update increases the character limit in the search box from a few dozen characters to over 1,000, allowing users to input full-length queries and receive responses similar to those from generative AI chat apps.
The enhancement is part of Baidu’s broader strategy to integrate generative AI more deeply on its platform and enhance the user experience.
