HANOI — Vietnam’s trade surplus with the U.S. widened to $62 billion in the first six months of 2025, up 29% from the same period in 2024, according to official data.
The increase was apparently fueled by exporters who are frontloading shipments in order to avoid what would have been one of U.S. President Donald Trump’s highest “reciprocal” tariffs in the world.
