BANGKOK — Less than a year after its formation, the government of Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra is in crisis as a key party leaves the ruling coalition over a leaked conversation related to Thailand’s border disputes with Cambodia.
On Wednesday evening, the Bhumjaithai Party announced its exit, leaving Paetongtarn’s ruling coalition with only a slim majority in the lower house. Meanwhile, public anger has grown against the prime minister, with some calling for her resignation.
