Rather, the service that <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/342919\/galaxy-debuts-crypto-platform-individuals-rival-robinhood-kraken\" target=\"_blank\"><span>debuted<\/span><\/a><span> in October is being built in a way that\u2019s intended to reward investors\u2019 patience, he told <\/span><i><span>Decrypt<\/span><\/i><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Within the context of Galaxy\u2019s broader business, Prince said the financial services and investment management firm is already in a good place as far as prediction markets are concerned, providing institutional clients with internal trading and risk management.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>When it comes to consumers that GalaxyOne was built for, who have anywhere between $100,000 and $1 million in investible assets, he described prediction markets as tools that may not align with many affluent consumers for building long-term wealth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cFor individual consumers, I\u2019m not particularly excited about it versus other things we have on our roadmap,\u201d he said. \u201cI haven\u2019t been able to find a use case for someone who\u2019s building a diversified portfolio\u2014that they\u2019re going to allocate to for the long term\u2014for prediction markets.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In some ways, the sentiment <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/364617\/charles-schwab-weighs-prediction-markets-bitcoin-ethereum-trading-nears\" target=\"_blank\"><span>echoes<\/span><\/a><span> commentary from Charles Schwab President and CEO Rick Wurster, who indicated this week that America\u2019s largest discount brokerage would limit prediction-market access to wagers focused on financial events if it enters that territory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Prince argued that there are two ways to be successful as a consumer-facing financial services offering: cater to investors who want time in the market to be the driving force, like Vanguard or Betterment, or seek customers that view themselves as active traders.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Retail brokerages like Robinhood have embraced prediction markets by working with Kalshi, providing what analysts have described as a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/346154\/compass-point-bullish-robinhood-prediction-market-growth\" target=\"_blank\"><span>sports-fueled tailwind<\/span><\/a><span>. Still, Prince indicated GalaxyOne isn\u2019t trying to develop a platform \u201cwhere you want people to log in every day.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>GalaxyOne began supporting <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/resources\/what-is-solana-a-scalable-decentralized-network-for-dapps\" target=\"_blank\"><span>Solana<\/span><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/resources\/how-to-invest-in-cryptocurrencies-staking-and-lending\" target=\"_blank\"><span>staking<\/span><\/a><span> last month, enabling individuals to earn rewards by locking up tokens and participating in the process of validating the network\u2019s transactions. In the not-too-distant future, Prince said that GalaxyOne plans to support <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/resources\/what-is-ethereum-quickly-explained-four-minute-guide\" target=\"_blank\"><span>Ethereum<\/span><\/a><span> staking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Until the end of this year, the firm has waived commissions on Solana staking rewards that customers receive. Lending services that GalaxyOne plans to offer in the future will allow investors to borrow against staked Solana and Ethereum while still earning rewards.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe\u2019re really excited about that product,\u201d Prince added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Staking has enabled competitors like Coinbase to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/151047\/coinbase-revenue-fees-subscriptions-services-usdc-circle\" target=\"_blank\"><span>diversify revenue<\/span><\/a><span> away from a reliance on trading fees, which tend to fluctuate alongside market conditions. The crypto exchange disclosed in February that it generated $677 million from staking in 2025, down 4% year-over-year, citing lower average crypto prices in a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/s27.q4cdn.com\/397450999\/files\/doc_financials\/2025\/q4\/v2\/Q4-25-Shareholder-Letter.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><span>shareholder letter<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Currently, GalaxyOne\u2019s customers are showing a preference for 8% returns on cash that the platform\u2019s \u201cpremium yield\u201d product supports, Prince said, describing the offering as among the most differentiated that the company has debuted so far.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>This week, Galaxy announced that its retail investment platform was poised to begin accepting U.S. businesses and entities as customers.
