        "rendered": "<div data-testid=\"html-renderer-container\">\n<p>X\u2019s artificial intelligence chatbot, Grok, makes the social media platform more truth-friendly with responses that oppose users who turn to it to confirm political biases, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe easy ability to call Grok on Twitter is probably the biggest thing after community notes that has been positive for the truth-friendliness of this platform,\u201d Buterin <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/VitalikButerin\/status\/2004124313679548708\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a> on Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201dThe fact that you don&#8217;t see ahead of time how Grok will respond is key here,\u201d he added. \u201cI&#8217;ve seen many situations where someone calls on Grok expecting their crazy political belief to be confirmed and Grok comes along and rugs them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Buterin <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/VitalikButerin\/status\/2004176549504004221\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a> a strong case can be made that Grok is a \u201cnet improvement\u201d to X, but acknowledged concerns over how the AI chatbot is fine-tuned to learn from the opinions and views of certain users, including its creator, Elon Musk.<\/p>\n<figure>    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2025-12\/019b5834-7119-75cd-b56e-c1a9452cf1e0.png\" title><figcaption><em>Source: <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/VitalikButerin\/status\/2004124313679548708\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/x.com\/VitalikButerin\/status\/2004124313679548708\"><em>Vitalik Buterin<\/em><\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Grok\u2019s flaws were on full display last month when it <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/groks-praises-elon-musk-shows-ai-needs-decentralization\">boasted about Musk\u2019s athletic ability<\/a> and even suggested he could have resurrected faster than Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n<p>Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1991624623407161383\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">blamed<\/a> \u201cadversarial prompting\u201d for the hallucinations, and crypto executives argued it showed why AI needs to be decentralized in order to <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/make-ai-prove-itself\">safeguard accuracy, credibility<\/a>, and impartiality.<\/p>\n<p><template data-ct-widget=\"buzzsprout\" data-buzzsprout-podcast-id=\"2040516\" data-buzzsprout-episode-id=\"18343586\"><\/template><\/p>\n<h2>AI asserting views as fact a real concern<\/h2>\n<p data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\">Kyle Okamoto, chief technology officer at decentralized cloud platform Aethir, told Cointelegraph last month that \u201cwhen the most powerful AI systems are owned, trained and governed by a single company, you create conditions for algorithmic bias to become institutionalized knowledge.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\"><p>\u201cModels begin to produce worldviews, priorities and responses as if they\u2019re objective facts, and that\u2019s when bias stops being a bug and becomes the operating logic of the system that\u2019s replicated at scale.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\"><em><strong>Related: <\/strong><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/magazine\/meet-crypto-sleuths-fighting-crime-better-than-the-cops\/\"><em><strong>Ethereum must become simpler to achieve true trustlessness: Buterin<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\">Grok is built by Musk\u2019s AI company, xAI, and is one of the most widely used <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/openai-ipo-1t-valuation-late-2026-report\">AI chatbots<\/a>.
