        "rendered": "<div data-v-0ccfa88e>\n<p>BitMine chair Tom Lee has seemingly eased off his widely promoted $250,000 year-end Bitcoin forecast, now only giving it a \u201cmaybe\u201d that Bitcoin can reclaim its October all-time high of $125,100 before the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s still very likely that Bitcoin is going to be above $100,000 before year-end, and maybe even to a new high,\u201d Lee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=8-Xmm1RB-Gc\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a> during an interview with CNBC on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>This appears to be the first time Lee has publicly softened his $250,000 year-end Bitcoin (<a href=\"http:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/bitcoin-price\">BTC<\/a>) price target, which he initially floated earlier in 2024 and continued to reiterate <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-price-downtrend-analysts-tip-btc-2025-forecast\">through early October<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lee\u2019s prediction was one of the more bullish. Other crypto executives, including Galaxy Digital <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-price-2025-macro-factors-galaxy-digital-mike-novogratz\">CEO Mike Novogratz<\/a>, warned around October that \u201ccrazy stuff\u201d would need to happen for Bitcoin to reach that level.<\/p>\n<figure>    <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin Price\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2025-11\/019ac2c1-f892-76b7-be3d-d914ef1575e7\" title><figcaption><em>Bitcoin is down 1.85% over the past 12 months. Source: <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/bitcoin\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/bitcoin\/\"><em>CoinMarketCap<\/em><\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>That being said, Lee said some of Bitcoin&#8217;s strongest days may still lie ahead before the end of 2025. <\/p>\n<p data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\">\u201cI still think some of those best days are going to happen before year-end,\u201d he said, with 35 days remaining until the end of 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Bitcoin holders will need to keep guessing, says exec\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>Lee pointed out Bitcoin\u2019s\u00a0tendency to make the majority of its gains over a small number of trading sessions each year, noting that the asset typically \u201cmakes its move\u201d in just 10 days annually.<\/p>\n<p>The idea is widely shared among industry executives. Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/HHorsley\/status\/1762660112915964385?s=20\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a> in a February 2024 X post that while investors cannot predict when those days will be, missing Bitcoin\u2019s best 10 days historically means missing nearly all of its returns.<\/p>\n<figure>    <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin Price\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2025-11\/019ac2c3-4d27-709d-83a2-53c44fa0fb72\" title><figcaption><em>Source: <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TheRealPlanC\/status\/1993770026655006962?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TheRealPlanC\/status\/1993770026655006962?s=20\"><em>PlanC<\/em><\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In 2024, Bitcoin\u2019s strongest 10 days delivered a combined return of 52%, while the remaining 355 days generated an average return of -15%.<\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin has been in a downtrend since Oct. 10, pressured by a <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/19b-crypto-market-crash-leverage-china-tariffs\">$19 billion liquidation<\/a> across the crypto market that followed US President Donald Trump\u2019s announcement of a 100% tariff on Chinese goods.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\">It only reclaimed the $90,000 level on Wednesday after spending six consecutive days below it.<\/p>\n<p>This is despite November historically being the strongest month on average for Bitcoin since 2013, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coinglass.com\/today\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">according<\/a> to CoinGlass.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\">Meanwhile, economist Timothy Peterson said on Monday that Bitcoin\u2019s bottom may already be in, <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-price-bottom-this-week-btc-down-20-percent-november\">or will occur this week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Lee has been hit and miss with his Bitcoin predictions<\/h2>\n<p>If Bitcoin fails to hit Lee\u2019s prediction, it would not be the first time one of Lee\u2019s Bitcoin forecasts has fallen short.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Related: <\/strong><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-usdt-performance-glassnode\"><em><strong>Bitcoin shows \u2018strong negative correlation\u2019 with USDt activity: Glassnode<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In January 2018, Lee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2018-01-18\/bitcoin-bull-tom-lee-goes-hyperbolic-on-latest-price-forecast\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a> that Bitcoin could reach as high as $125,000 by 2022. The all-time <a href=\"https:\/\/charts.bitbo.io\/price\/2018\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">high<\/a> in 2018 ended up being $17,172.<\/p>\n<p>However, Lee has also made accurate price calls too.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In July 2017, Lee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/bitcoin-price-ethereum-cannibalizing-gold-2017-7\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">projected<\/a> that in a base-case scenario, Bitcoin could reach $20,000 by 2022, while a more bullish outlook could see a potential price as high as $55,000 over the same period.<\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin ended up reaching $20,000 in December 2020 and $55,000 in March 2021, <a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/bitcoin\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">according<\/a> to CoinMarketCap.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Magazine: <\/strong><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/magazine\/vechain-sunny-lu-bitcoin-beginnings-blockchain-founder-cointelegraph\/\"><em><strong>Getting scammed for 100 Bitcoin led Sunny Lu to create VeChain<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><template data-name=\"subscription_form\" data-type=\"crypto_biz\" label=\"Subscription Form: Crypto Biz Newsletter\"><\/template><\/div>",
