        "rendered": "<div>\n<div>\n<h4 color=\"#333\">In brief<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>A gold statue of Binance\u2019s Changpeng Zhao will be unveiled Tuesday in Washington D.C., the creators claim.<\/li>\n<li>It will be shown outside the U.S. Capitol for a handful of hours, much like a recent statue of President Trump holding a Bitcoin.<\/li>\n<li>The statue\u2019s makers want to give it to Binance\u2019s former CEO, who was pardoned by Trump last week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>Binance founder Changpeng Zhao will be recognized in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday with a 14-foot-tall statue, crypto fans claim. The physical tribute follows a <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/345681\/trump-pardons-binance-founder-changpeng-zhao\" target=\"_blank\">pardon from U.S. President Donald Trump<\/a> last week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>An organizer who goes by Nick Zee told <\/span><i><span>Decrypt <\/span><\/i><span>that the gold-painted statue will feature Zhao\u2019s iconic gesture, with crypto\u2019s richest man flashing four fingers up on one hand\u2014in reference to his <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/cz_binance\/status\/1610018096122851328\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener\">2023 goal<\/a> of ignoring fear, uncertainty and doubt (aka \u201cFUD\u201d) amid heightened regulatory scrutiny.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The statue will be displayed for a handful of hours before it is offered to Zhao as a gift, or auctioned off to the benefit of Giggle Academy, Zee said. The nonprofit was established by Zhao last year, after he pleaded guilty to a criminal charge related to anti-money laundering violations, as part of a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/206904\/binance-must-completely-exit-from-us-as-it-settles-years-long-criminal-investigation\" target=\"_blank\"><span>$4.3 billion settlement<\/span><\/a><span> between him, the exchange, and U.S. law officials.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" alt width=\"1200\" height=\"1600\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/img.decrypt.co\/insecure\/rs:fit:3840:0:0:0\/plain\/https:\/\/cdn.decrypt.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/cz-statue.jpg@webp\"><figcaption>A statue of Binance founder Changpeng &#8220;CZ&#8221; Zhao. Photo: CZSTATUE Team<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span>\u201cCZ is iconic,\u201d Zee said, referring to Zhao by his initials. \u201cHe\u2019s an OG.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>An anonymous collective, composed of <\/span><i><span>four<\/span><\/i><span> people, put up around $50,000 to fund the initiative, Zee said. And it took around <\/span><i><span>four <\/span><\/i><span>weeks for the statue to be created using a CNC printing machine, which milled the statue from dense foam blocks, Zee added. The team has been sharing videos of the statue being polished and transported ahead of its purported public debut.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The initiative is unrelated to other attempts at honoring influential crypto figures in D.C. in recent weeks. In the same spot that the statue of Zhao is expected to be shown outside the U.S. Capitol, a separate group <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/340456\/whats-up-golden-trump-bitcoin-statue-washington-dc\" target=\"_blank\"><span>erected<\/span><\/a><span> a gold statue of Trump clutching a Bitcoin last month.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>There is a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dextools.io\/app\/en\/bnb\/pair-explorer\/0xa2F7ADB913284b9A48D06bC28260e7E60ccF009e?t=1761600609451\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener\"><span>meme coin<\/span><\/a><span> associated with the initiative, which was issued on <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/resources\/what-is-binance-smart-chain\" target=\"_blank\">BNB Chain<\/a> under the ticker CZSTATUE, a spokesperson for the statue\u2019s creators told <\/span><i><span>Decrypt<\/span><\/i><span>. It has a market cap of $577,000, as of this writing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Zee said that the statue was inspired by \u201cfake attacks\u201d against Zhao, as well as a recent increase in the price of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/price\/binance-coin\" target=\"_blank\"><span>BNB<\/span><\/a><span>, which Binance\u2019s competitors have recently <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/345481\/bnb-robinhood-coinbase-list-coin-record-surge\" target=\"_blank\"><span>moved<\/span><\/a><span> to support. The pardon, Zee said, was \u201clike the cherry on the cake.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>On Monday, BNB changed hands around $1,137, roughly flat over the past day, according to crypto data provider <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/price\/binance-coin\" target=\"_blank\"><span>CoinGecko<\/span><\/a><span>. The token\u2019s price has increased 18% over the past month, repeatedly setting record highs in recent weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Zhao\u2019s exchange has links to Trump-backed World Liberty Financial. The decentralized finance project\u2019s USD1 stablecoin was tapped for a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/309666\/binance-2b-investment-abu-dhabi-firm\" target=\"_blank\"><span>$2 billion investment<\/span><\/a><span> in Binance from Abu Dhabi-based sovereign wealth fund MGX earlier this year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Although some celebrated Zhao\u2019s pardon, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) was among critics that <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/345681\/trump-pardons-binance-founder-changpeng-zhao\" target=\"_blank\"><span>described<\/span><\/a><span> the president\u2019s move as indicative of corruption\u00a0 on Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cFirst, Changpeng Zhao pleaded guilty to a criminal money laundering charge.
