SEOUL — Marriages between Japanese women and South Korean men are increasing due largely to the cultural interchange inspired by the hallyu Korean wave.
One 28-year-old Japanese woman met her husband through an app that matches users with South Korean friends. After a long-distance romantic relationship that lasted a year, the couple married in 2024 and now live in a city located an hour by train from Seoul.
